Supporting early learners for 20 years

In our commitment to best serve the ever-evolving needs of children and families in our programs, our mission is clear. We are dedicated to equipping our staff with the tools and knowledge to meet the diverse requirements of each child under their care.

To achieve this, we tap into a range of resources and actively engage with the broader childcare provider community, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. I am personally participating in a peer mentorship program to connect with local early childhood educators and find collaborative solutions to the challenges facing our sector. Likewise, our staff continually benefit from ongoing professional development. Last year this included specialized training such as Autism training, positive strategies for working with challenging behaviours, and cultural workshops with Indigenous and Metis educators/the Waldorf Early Childhood Association’s Annual conference, which last year focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from a Waldorf early childhood lens.

Ensuring Support is Accessible

Understanding that children’s development and needs exhibit unique variations, our faculty has also been trained in utilizing ASQ screening to identify children’s strengths and areas where additional support may be needed. Moreover, our Early Years team collaborates closely with Supported Child Development to proactively identify and address the distinctive needs of students, ensuring that families are able to access individualized support as necessary.

Weekly faculty study in another way that we deepen our practice and provide moments of renewal through sharing and mutual support. Studies have included ongoing topics such as supporting the foundational senses, and ad hoc topics such as individual child study or artistic development.

Lastly, recognizing that social connection plays a pivotal role in family well-being, we remain steadfast in creating opportunities for parents to connect and cultivate a supportive community.
