WWS hosts the annual Ski-a-thon

A unique fundraiser to pay it forward…

Who can participate? WWS students, parents, and employees are invited to hit the slopes for the ski (and ride)-a-thon.

What are we fundraising for? All money donated is received by the Whistler Waldorf School who will, in turn, pay a portion forward to other local not-for-profits supporting mental health and wellness initiatives in our community.

Where: Whistler Mountain T-bar. (A huge thanks to Whistler Blackcomb for giving us priority use during our fundraising event!)

How does the Ski-a-thon event work? Participants will meet at Whistler mountain’s T-Bar Run and ski/ride as many laps as they can on, with more donations collected as each lap is completed.

How do we fundraise? Participants will create an account through Do-jiggy and participate in WWS’ fundraising page where they are encouraged to secure $75 in pledges to help us reach our goal of raising $5000. For those who reach more pledges, prizes are available. It’s a friendly school-wide competition as we see who can raise the most in pledges for this amazing cause!

How do I help support the event? Even if you don’t want to do the skiing/riding, you can donate and help build pledges for participants!

This Year’s & Past Ski-a-thon Fundraisers…

The first annual Ski-a-thon started in 2022 with a dream to get students active and actively supporting their school and local non-profits in their community. Since then, this event has become a fan favorite for students and the WWS community in terms of those who sign up to participate and cheer each other on the mountain and those who  donate to the skiers/riders for the most amount of laps resulting in some friendly competition on-hill. Those cheering from the sidelines or celebrating after at the Après event have an awesome time as well.

When all is said and done, the WWS community enjoys the fact that it’s a fun fundraiser focused on giving, not winning.

Below are the different years with their specific event details.
