Parent Satisfaction is High

Parent Survey Feedback – Key Takeaways
Thank you for attending and actively engaging in this week’s Coffee Conversation on Parent Survey feedback. We shared the survey data and, where possible, placed it within a local context to allow meaningful comparisons of student well-being—including safety and belonging—as well as educational outcomes, such as Grade 4 and 7 numeracy and literacy results, with those of schools in SD 48.

Key Highlights:
  • Student Experience: 97.3% of GS parents and 100% of HS parents agree or strongly agree that WWS provides a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Educational Standards: 90% of HS parents agree and/or strongly agree that the school prioritizes high-quality instruction and academic success.
  • Overall Satisfaction: 98% of GS parents and 89.5% of HS parents agree or strongly agree that they are satisfied with their child’s overall experience at WWS.
  • School Strengths: Community and strong relationships were the most frequently cited strengths across the school. Parents also highlighted character development, a nurturing and holistic approach, and in the grade school, the benefits of small, single-stream classes.
  • Areas for Growth: Feedback in this category was more varied rather than reflecting a single trend. Responses mentioned facility upgrades, expanded after-school programming, more service opportunities, and improvements to the hot lunch program. There were also requests for more information on the permanent campus and a few curriculum-specific suggestions.

Next Steps:
Faculty and the operational management team have reviewed this data, and students will soon complete their own survey. The results will be compiled and analyzed alongside parent feedback to provide a more comprehensive perspective. This data will also help inform the Board’s ongoing work on a new strategic plan, guiding key action items for improvement.
Thank you for your time; your feedback is invaluable in shaping the school’s ongoing efforts to enhance the learning experience for all students.
