Lucien Power – Waldorf Educator & Former WWS Teacher

“When I joined the school I was inspired by the passion and spirit of Ali and Christine Cook. Both women understood the uniqueness of the West coast, specifically Whistler and its culture. They both valued Waldorf education and recognized the need for continuing the school into the upper years. I could see that the flame had been lit, and the roots lived strongly and that the impulse for a new high school was burning brightly in Whistler.

When I started teaching I quickly recognized the talent in the faculty, and the vibrant, creative, hard-working student body. It was an absolute pleasure working in such a passionate community of parents, teachers and students.

Given the unique challenges facing the students over their lifetimes, I feel that an education based on strong relationships, human endeavour and free-thinking will become so important. And given the year we have had, and the challenges we continue to face, I encourage the students to continue to embrace the relationships with each other, the faculty and the broader community.”
