As per the WWS Parent Association Constitution, the 2020-2021 Parent Council is hereby giving notice of its upcoming Annual General Meeting and call for nominations for Parent Council executive positions.

What does the Parent Association do?
* build a community within the school to support all of its members in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures
* provide opportunities for parent education so parents can learn more about the Waldorf philosophy and pedagogy and can support their child’s education at home.
* provide an avenue through which parents may be of service to the school through volunteerism.
*raise funds to support the Whistler Waldorf School Society’s mission
* in partnership with the school, coordinate and run community events outlined on an annual basis.

What does the Parent Council do?
The Parent Council is 5-12 members who preside over the Parent Association.

Are you interested in sitting on the Parent Council with a group of fun, energetic and enthusiastic community builders? Becoming part of the WWS Parent Council is an excellent way to become involved in your child’s education and positively contribute to our school community.

Bike to School Week

This is a great week to participate in saving Mother Earth and ride, walk, scooter, skate or hop to work under your own power. Whistler Waldorf supports this environmentally friendly, community initiative and encourages staff, students and WWS community members to join in for the week!

ONLINE: Grade 8 Project Evening Presentation

We celebrate our Gr. 8 students as they present on various topics of deep personal interest for an inspiring and engaging discussion for parents, friends, Waldorf school members and the Sea to Sky community.

As their first major project in High School, the students demonstrate their approach to the world with the mental and emotional fortitude, critical reasoning, creativity, knowledge and compassion that Waldorf education works to instill.

ON HOLD – White Out Party – Parent Social

Gear up in your all-white ensemble and enjoy drinks, dinner, and dancing at this fun Whistler Waldorf parent social evening.

Ticket price includes a delicious Thai buffet style dinner and dancing. $5 drinks at cash bar.

TBD ONLINE: Mom’s Night! – Parent social

Mom’s Night is an evening of fun that includes facilitated discussion with WWS faculty, wine and eats*. It’s three hours for you to relax, connect with other WWS moms, and learn more about Waldorf education. Applicable to parents of children across the grades.

Host and Locations are shared through the school’s E-newsletter starting a few weeks before.

*Bring your own beverage; light snacks provided.

A music concert put on by the High School students at Whistler Waldorf. Everyone welcome – this is an informal school event to enjoy music and entertainment for all!
