WWS Spotlight

A chance to meet our school community

Avery Serfas – WWS Grade 3 student

Spotlight Throwback!
Here below is Avery’s spotlight we featured last year when she was in Grade 2; we sure are missing seeing her along with all of our other WWS students!

Bookworm, passionate crafter and lover of all those not afraid to be silly

Tell us a little about yourself.
Oh my gosh! Well, I’m 7 years old. I’m almost 8 but usually now I say I’m 8 because my birthday is February 21, so it’s super close. I have brown eyes, I have blondie brown hair, I have a nose, I have two eyes and I have one head. And I have boogers!

Tell us a little about your family.
My family… my family. I am Avery and I have a little brother (Ozzy, Early Years), a mom and a dad. My brother is 3 and three quarters and my mom is 45 and my dad is 46.

What is something you really enjoy about school?
Handwork! I love to knit and I’m learning to crochet. I also love French and having a new friend at school.

What is your favourite part of your school day?
Learning.

What is your favourite school festival and what do you love about it?
The Christmas Fair because you can do a bunch of crafts and give things to people and I especially like the secret kids room… for kids only!

Thank you Avery! We look forward to when we can all connect with each other again in the future.

PEACE Counselling Program available for families

Now more than ever it is important to be connecting and supporting children, youth and families.

The PEACE Counselling program is offered through the Howe Sound Women’s Centre & funded through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.

This program provides service to children and families who have experienced family conflict and/or violence in the home through separation and divorce. It aims to help promote problem solving, model healthy expression of feelings and help children define personal boundaries for emotional strength and safety.

Full program details including contacts in their Letter to schools

There are no requirements to access the food bank. Families can book an appointment starting Monday, March 30th.
